TPS Fuel

TPS Aerospace Fuel operates from an 18,000 square foot structure on 1.8 acres of land. There are 2,400 square feet of office space with 1,100 square feet of stockroom space. The production area encompasses 5,500 square feet with one fireproof test cell located adjacent to the work areas. A seperate work area provides for future expansion of both production facilities and test cells.

 

Submersible Pumps

Test stand number one is set up to test submersible pumps with both ac and dc drive motors. The instrumentation of the stand measures the different parameters of the test: fuel pressures, fuel flows, temperatures, voltage and current, plus air flow and air pressure. This stand is configured such that it can handle flow rates from 190 pounds per hour to 118,000 pounds per hour providing the capability to test components from the smaller corporate/commuter types through the newest generation of wide body commercial aircraft.

 

APU Fuel Control Units

Test stand number two is set up to test fuel control units for the Allied Signal APU's. A variable speed drive system along with fuel, and air systems simulate the aircraft systems. The instrumentation of the stand measures the different parameters of the test: fuel pressures, fuel temperatures, plus air pressure. The turbine flow meters utilized have the capacity to handle flows from 8.8 pounds per hour to 3,600 pounds per hour.

 

Engine Mounted Fuel Pumps

Test stand number three is set up to test engine mounted fuel pumps. A variable speed drive system along with fuel and air systems simulate the aircraft systems. The instrumentation of the stand measures the different parameters of the test: fuel pressures, fuel temperatures and air pressure. The turbine flow meters have the capacity to handle flows from 76 pounds per hour to 59,000 pounds per hour.

 

Miscellaneous Fuel Accessories

Test stand number four is set up to test a variety of fuel components, namely, bleed valve actuators, variable stator blade actuators, fuel shut off valves, P&D valves and other fuel accessories. The stand is equipped with both a high pressure and low pressure circuit. The low pressure circuit has a pressure range of 0-200 psi and flow rates up to 114,000 pounds per hour. The high pressure circuit has a pressure range of 0-1,500 psi and flow rates up to 32,000 pounds per hour.
